End of Life

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened. ”
– Anatole France

One of the things we take great pride in is being there for when the time comes. It's never easy saying goodbye to a member of the family but we hope we can make that part of owning a pet peaceful and dignified.

We will discuss your individual requirements for your pet depending on circumstances to ensure sure the euthanasia procedure is as stress free as possible for both you and your loved one.

We may give your pet a small injection (like a vaccine) to make them sleepy prior to euthanasia so it is peaceful for them if they are anxious, others we may proceed straight to the end of life injection.
All pets are individual and we treat them as such.

Once they have passed, we can do paw prints and/or hair clippings if you would like
and we can help you to take care of what happens afterwards.
We can leave them with you and help you wrap them if you would like to bury at home or make your own arrangements. We can also take them away with us and organise cremation options for you if you prefer. There is the option to have them cremated individually so you can have their ashes returned to you or there is a companion cremation option where they are cremated with other cats and dogs and no ashes are returned.
Cremation is with our crematorium partner PCS who will treat you pet with the final respect he or she deserves.

End of Life appointments are from £200 (set prices on weight regardless of time taken/drugs used)
Companion Cremation is from £80
Individual Cremation (scatter box) is from £120

For any enquiries regarding End of life services please call/message/email us and we will
do our best to help alleviate any concerns you may have

Prescriptions

Prescriptions are available from Robins Nest Vets at a charge of £15 per script/item

You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products only following a clinical assessment of an animal under his or her care.
A prescription may not be appropriate if immediate treatment is necessary for your pet.
You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.
The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions for/supplies of relevant veterinary medicinal products every 3 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances.
The standard charge for a re-examination is £50

Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
