About Us
I'm Gemma, founding director of Robin's Nest Vets. I graduated in 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College in London but being a Harrogate lass myself, I couldn't resist making my way back to Gods own County (and the Yorkshire Tea!)
Prior to inception of Robins Nest Vets I've had extensive experience in a variety of Veterinary Clinics in the UK. I've worked in 24 hour hospital settings including night work, a veterinary dental referral practice and first opinion day vet clinics. I've mentored student nurses and vets and had senior roles in practices in which I have worked. I also have experience in laparoscopic surgery and more advanced surgical techniques and have completed an advanced 'certificate' in Small Animal Surgery and I am working towards 'Advanced Practitioner' status having just completed my Veterinary Professional Skills module. My last few years in practice have been as a locum vet travelling around many clinics as a GP vet and offering advanced surgical services. I also volunteer with Street Paws in my spare time, a homeless charity offering veterinary care to those in need. I love all aspects of veterinary medicine but if I had to pick, my clinical interests lie in Surgery and feline medicine.
I am currently owned by a sassy black rescue cat called Evie who has been with me since my new graduate days in County Durham and have recently rescued a little spaniel Ellie who you may see in the van out and about with me. In my spare time in enjoy walking in our beautiful Yorkshire Countryside, weightlifting, attempting to run and anything a little arty; modern calligraphy is on the agenda at the moment.
I look forward to meeting you and your nest.

Robin's Nest Vets was created to offer a more personal, stress free, friendly service to the pets of Yorkshire. Too often things can feel rushed and stressful (and we all have far to much stress in our lives!). Our pets will often pick up on this stress and behaviours can change. Veterinary Care at home allows for natural expression of your pets normal behaviours and less anxiety that can be associated with Veterinary treatment. Most appointments are for longer than average allowing for a thorough and less stressful experience for you and your pet at home.
Some pets may be very sick and need more intensive care at a traditional 'bricks and mortar' practice or require urgent care that may be difficult for us to accommodate as a visiting veterinary practice.
We have teamed up with the lovely people at Wagtails Vets to work together to provide the best care to the pets of Harrogate. If your pet sounds like it may need more than we can offer at home, or requires urgent care, we may redirect you to the experienced vets over at Wagtails to take care of you.
They're fab and you'll be well looked after!
